Qualifications & Memberships

I am a Chartered Psychologist with HCPC registration (PYL30956). I completed my Doctorate in Child, Community and Educational Psychology at the Tavistock Clinic, affiliated by University of Essex (July, 2014).

I am an associate member of the Institute of Group Analysis having completed a Diploma in Group Work Practice.

I have completed numerous CPD courses in areas of therapeutic practice, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systemic, Narrative, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Video Interaction Guidance, as well as Parenting approaches like Incredible Years, Solihull Approach and Personalised Individual Parent Training.

I also hold Qualified Teacher Status having taught in schools in London and Liverpool in my earlier career.

Personal Statement

I am a Child, Community and Educational Psychologist with a particular interest in working with young people (14-25 years). I have many years’ experience working across education, health, social care and charity sectors. For the past four years, I have held a clinical manager role within a busy Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) .

I have had the privilege to support as well as learn from clients from a wide range of backgrounds. I believe our past experiences and social context hold great relevance to our sense of identity and experiences in the world.

Young People who have worked with me often remark that I create a safe and non-judgmental space where they have felt heard. I work collaboratively with each one of my clients, at a pace and depth that feels psychologically safe, but sufficiently challenging to make progress. I aim to support young people to explore their current difficulties and past experiences, as well as strengths, hopes and dreams, in a bid to help make meaning of their distress, enhance coping and empower them to live lives that are authentic and fulfilling.

Whilst my approach is integrative, I specialise in providing individual and group psychodynamic psychotherapy. From personal experience, I know that long term therapy is beneficial; however, I also recognise that young people may not wish to be in therapy for an extended period of time. I have particular interest in providing time limited, yet effective therapy such as Time-Limited Adolescent Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (TAPP).

I am committed to upholding confidentiality, but I also understand that involving parents, caregivers, and educators can be important. Therefore, I offer advice, consultation, and training to key people within a young person's network, with permission and as required.

Taking the first step to embark on therapy can be intimidating, but finding the right therapist is essential. I offer a complimentary 20-minute consultation to help you, or significant others in your life, to discuss your needs and how I might be able to help.
