Qualifications & Memberships

I hold a Master of Science degree in Dance Movement Psychotherapy (Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh) and I have studied psychology at the University of Hertfordshire.

I am a registered member of the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy in the UK, which is a member of the UKCP and I am a member of the Greek Association of Dance Therapists. I have previously held student membership with the British Psychological Society.

I am also a certified energy healing practitioner and open to complementary healing modalities that enhance our understanding of human nature by being curious about what consciousness is.

Personal Statement

Welcome and thank you for choosing to read this. Also, if this is your first time thinking about therapy, or you are returning to this process after a break, you may know that making the decision to find better ways of coping and navigating life can be challenging! I believe that therapy takes courage and certainly commitment. Discovering reasons that hold you back, exploring insecurities and listening to that gut feeling that says something needs to change is not everyone’s cup of tea. But you are here, and I assume it means you would like to change something and that you are ready for it. You may have no clue what this something is. You don’t need to. It is enough that you know you can find alternative ways of looking at life that will make things easier and lighter. Sense-making is part of the process; understanding yourself, your needs and wants is another part of it; and why you do what you do is part of it too.

I specialise in working with traumatic experiences, past, current and recent. I have extensive experience in helping people overcome abusive and toxic relationships, and I accompany individuals in times of transition. Dealing with break-up, divorce, parenting issues, grief, loss and bereavement are some of the themes that you can explore with me. Another focus of mine is anxiety, depression and self-esteem. I hold a safe, non-judgmental space to connect with yourself, your inner wisdom and the wisdom of your body. I also welcome explorations into what identity and sexuality means to you. Therapy is confidential and non-judgemental. Feeling comfortable so that the uncomfortable can be addressed is an ongoing discovery in the therapeutic process. I invite you to show up as you are. Your mind as well as your body are most welcome.

Besides English, I am also fluent in Greek and German. Having a multicultural background, I acknowledge the importance of cultural differences and work in a culturally sensitive way to the best of my ability.

I have worked with children as well as adults from various backgrounds, and I have facilitated workshops and held groups in community settings. Previous work experiences include community mental health support for adults who have been in psychiatric care. Besides my private practice, I work with women who have experienced high levels of trauma due to domestic abuse and sexual violence. I am experienced in working with childhood trauma, including sexual abuse. I have supported individuals who face multiple, complex needs including substance misuse, mental health challenges and domestic violence.

My approach is always trauma-informed and tailored to the client’s needs, with a focus on somatic awareness and finding grounded, embodied ways for navigating all kinds of difficulties and challenges.
