Qualifications & Memberships

I have received qualifications as a Doctor of Psychotherapy and Counselling through The University of Edinburgh and hold a Registered Member status with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Personal Statement

I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist focusing on providing psychotherapy to individual adults. I gained my qualifications through the University of Edinburgh, where I have been qualified to the highest level as a Doctor of Psychotherapy and Counselling. I have experience working with individuals in open-ended, long-term psychotherapy as well as on a short-term and time-limited basis. Prior to starting my private practice, I have worked in both leading private institutions and the NHS.

I have vast experience in providing support for individuals of many backgrounds, nationalities, ethnicities, religions, genders, and sexual-orientations in gaining better understanding of their unconscious processes and the influences these have on their day-to-day lives.

When you contact me, I will set up a time for us to have an introductory phone call so that I can hear more from you about what you are currently struggling with. From there, we can agree a time for two initial consultation appointments to meet each other and gain a better understanding of what our work may entail.

From there, each treatment offered is fully tailored to you and your experience. I practise in a non-directive, client-centred way that focuses not on me telling you what to do or change, but instead allowing you to better understand yourself, your motivations and experiences, in order to help you take greater control over your thoughts and emotions so that you can make the right choices for you.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

Work Focus

My practice of psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on the impact an individual’s Unconscious has on their conscious thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Sometimes, this can be found in their present day experiences. At other times, this is rooted in events and experiences from their earlier life, such as difficulties with attachment or traumatic childhood experiences. Psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on how these past experiences and the present collide in order to alleviate the negative thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that a person has about themselves, or others, by identifying where they came from  before deciding what you would like to change about it.
